AshantiGold SC for the second time in four days scored more than three goals in a Premier League game at the Obuase Len Clay stadium. This confirms the clubs newly discovered predatory instincts especially at home.

The Aboakese lads on Sunday came from behind to beat Elmina Sharks to register their first season win after crashing out of the 2020/21 CAF Confederation Cup competition. On Wednesday, they followed up with a 5-1 thumping of King Faisal in an outstanding Premier League fixture.

Youngster, Isaac Opoku Agyemang who was making his debut for the Miners scored a brace and also assisted another goal to ensure the massive revival.

David Abagna Sandan who orchestrated the first goal was also on target as he registered his second goal in three days.

Coach Milovan Cirkovic made five changes to his squad that defeated Elmina Sharks 4-2 on Sunday.

Mohammed Bailou replaced Robert Dabuo in posts. Kwadwo Amoako, Abdul Bashiru and Amos Addai came in for Atta Kusi, Roland Amouzou and two-goal hero Dacosta Boadu and the replacements justified their inclusion in the set up.

Opoku Agyemang was handed his very first start in the League, playing in place of Mark Agyekum.

For King Faisal, Razak Toufiq was the only new face in the starting line up as he came in to replace Godfred Appiah Danso at left back.

Opoku Agyemang, scored first in the 16th minute as he connected a pass from Abagna following a beautiful team play.

King Faisal drew level 11 minutes later through Kwame Peprah. The 20-year-old pounced on a blunder by defender Abdul Bashiru to slot home.

AshantiGold restored their lead three minutes later with Opoku Agyemang setting up Abagna to coolly tap home.

Faisal goalkeeper Yusiu produced a spectacular save to deny the hosts the 3rd goal in the 38th minute.

The visitors had the opportunity to draw level after Pepprah was brought down inside the box resulting in a penalty. He stepped up but blasted the ball wide. Back from the recess, the home side did not take the feet off the accelerator as they kept pilling pressure in search of the third goal.

Their pressure paid off three minutes into the second half with a brilliant finish from Opoku Agyemang.

Opoku Agyemang nearly got a hat trick on his debut but his goal in the 63rd minute was ruled out for a foul on goalkeeper Yusiu.

Former Bechem United winger, Yaw Annor scored his first goal in the colours of AshantiGold SC seven minutes from time to increase the tally for the home side.

Annor, then put the icing on the cake with his second goal of the day after pouncing on a rebound following goalkeeper Yusiu's inability to save Appiah McCarthy's free-kick.

The win gives the miners, their second win in four days and sets them on a good way going into their next game against Techiman Eleven Wonders.
