Promotion league to kick off Saturday

Teams in Zones II and III will kick start the Division One promotion league as matches in Zone I are put on hold due to an unresolved legal matter.

According to the Division One League Board, the Disciplinary Committee are to decide Bazooka FC's protest against Samba FC for using player, Prince Kwakye, who is said to be unqualified.

The outcome of the case could affect the chances of Guan United playing in the promotion league.

However, eight clubs, group into two zones of four each beginning Saturday, May 1 will begin the campaign two available places in the Glo Premier League next season.

Match-day-1 presents all competing sides an opportunity to get off to a good start as former premier sides Ebusua Dwarfs and Mine Stars look to beat off competition from Medeama and Westham in Zone II.

On the opening day of the campaign, Mine Stars will host Medeama to the Ohene Djan Stadium while Dwarfs welcome Westham to the Tema Park.

Tema Youth's hopes of staging a quick return to the premiership just a year after being relegated faces a tough test in Zone III with a clash against FC Nania at the Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape Coast.

Mighty Jets and Pure Joy will square off at the Sekondi Sports Stadium in the other group fixture.
