In the Southern Zone, two debutants, Army Ladies and Faith Ladies are set to rekindle the rivalry on Match Day 7 of the League while Hasaacas Ladies clash with Berry Ladies at the Gyandu Park. Here is a quick preview of how the games will unfold in the Southern Zone.

THUNDER QUEENS X IMMIGRATION LADIES

Despite not setting the league on fire, Thunder Queens have quickly found an ominous groove and consistency in their last two games after moving to the 2nd spot, 3 points shy of leaders Hasaacas Ladies.  The output of the likes of Vivian Adjei Konadu, Leticia Adjei and Matilda Kwao attest to the fact that, the team  is now to ruthless and always found the winning formula in every contest under the tutelage of Coach Selassie Pentem. This weekend, they play host to an Immigration Ladies side who lost 0:2 at home to Hasaacas Ladies. The ‘service Ladies’ have had a topsy-turvy campaign and are without a win but have accumulated 3 points through 3 drawn games. This particular encounter is one to look out for as Thunder Queens aim at maintaining the 2nd spot while Immigration Ladies look forward to their first win.

HASAACAS LADIES X BERRY LADIES

This Match Day seven encounter at the Sekondi Gyandu Park will be an interesting one as Hasaacas Ladies host Berry Ladies. The ‘Dooo Ladies’ have amassed an unenviable 14 points and sit comfortable at the apex of the League log while Berry Ladies have 9 points and find themselves in 3rd place. Hasaacas Ladies have dominated ties between the two and losing only once last season by a lone goal at the Madina Astro Turf. Although both teams have lost some notable players this season, it’s expected that fans will be thrilled with the output of both sides. Again the tactical mojo of two experienced coaches, Yusif Basigi and Mercy Tagoe Quarcoe will come to bear and a beautiful outcome is expected at the Sekondi Gyandu park on Saturday.

LADYSTRIKERS X SEA LIONS

The Robert Mensah Park in Cape Coast will witness a mouthwatering local derby on Saturday as LadyStrikers entertain Regional rivals Sea Lions on Match week seven. Matches between the two clubs have been fiercely contested but the Strikers have proved superior. Both sides lost in the preceding games where Sea Lions tasted their first defeat of the season at home to Thunder Queens and Strikers succumbed to a 2-1 loss to newcomers Faith Ladies on the road. LadyStrikers will be keen on bouncing back to winning ways after the Faith defeat and Sea Lions will also be aiming at snatching at a point to improve their position on the log.

POLICE LADIES X SOCCER INTELLECTUALS

Police Ladies will host Soccer Intellectuals at the McDan La Town Park. Both sides won against each other last season and Interestingly, both wins were secured by the visiting teams. Soccer Intellectuals won on the road against Police Ladies by a lone goal where as Police Ladies recovered with an emphatic 4-1 win in the reverse fixture. Lying fifth on the league log, with 8 points, Police Ladies will be hoping to return to winning ways to climb up the table after losing to Army Ladies last weekend. Without a win in their last three games, ninth-placed Soccer Intellectuals seek for a breakthrough with their eyes firmly fixed on a repeat against Police Ladies at the McDan Astro Turf, La. The game is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 30th January, 2022.

ARMY LADIES X FAITH LADIES

Army Ladies beat their Services rivals Police Ladies last weekend to get their season back on with a second successive win. Pateience Adjetey scored in the 36th minute to ensure that they win their second straight game and bounced back from a sloppy start. They will hope to build on this feat as they welcome fellow debutants Faith Ladies on match day 7. Faith Ladies also go into the game with a resounding 2:1 victory over LadyStrikers on match Day 6. Even though Faith Ladies have had the upper hand in most of their previous meetings,  a game of equals is expected at the El-Wak Sports Stadium.
