After two weeks of football in the new Women’s Premier League season, three teams, Dreamz Ladies and Pearl Pia in the Northern Zone and Hasaacas Ladies in the Southern Zone have a 100% record as the only unbeaten sides in the season. Here is what to expect in the Northern Zone on Match Day Three:

FC Savannah x Ashtown Ladies

FC Savannah fell to City rivals Pearlpia Ladies FC 2-0 at the Aliu Mahama Sports stadium on Saturday leaving fans disgruntled after the final whistle. The Tamale-based side’s objective now is to get back to winning ways as they take a shot at Ashtown Ladies on Match Day three. The visitors are coming into this game fresh from a defeat against Ampem Darkoa at their own backyard and will also seek to make amends. FC Savannah will go into the game as favourites for being the home side and also due to the presence of Abdulai Karima, Ibrahim Asana and Abdul Hanan Sakina who could be drumming home victory this weekend.

Pearl Pia Ladies x Prisons Ladies

Northern Zone leaders PearlPia Ladies FC will host old customers, Prisons Ladies on Match Day 3. The last meeting between them ended goalless at the Tamale Utrecht Academy Park and 1- 0 in favor of Prisons at the Sunyuni Coronation Park in the reverse fixture. Pearlpia Ladies FC have had a great start to the season by winning all the 2 games played, scoring 4 goals without conceding while Prison Ladies  have lost one and won one. Pearlpia Ladies will be without captain, Alhassan Basira due to injury but will be looking forward to a spirited performance in this crunch encounter. Prisons Ladies on the other hand will look forward to fighting for all points at stake. The game is slated for 10:00am at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium Tamale on Saturday, January 1, 2022.

Supreme Ladies x Dreamz Ladies

Match day 3 will see two fierce city rivals battle for honors. Supreme Ladies welcome Dreamz Ladies to the Bantama Astro Turf. The home side started their league campaign on a high after getting a win but things went bad on match day two as they were silenced by Kumasi Sports Academy. Dreamz Ladies on the other hand are yet to taste defeat in the on-going campaign after defeating Fabulous Ladies last weekend by three goals to nil. Nancy Amoh will be the player to watch in this encounter for Supreme Ladies while Stella Nyamekye also controls affairs for the visitors. Both players will be a delight to watch as they face each other in this encounter.

Fabulous Ladies x Northern Ladies

Fabulous Ladies are set to host Northern Ladies in Kumasi on match day 3. Fabulous were off on a good start to the campaign against Kumasi Sports Academy on the opening day of the season. Their bright start got crashed on match day two when they suffered a 3-0 defeat to Dreamz Ladies. Northern Ladies’ performance have declined but are hoping to bounce back to winning ways after dropping points against rivals Prisons Ladies in a 1-0 defeat to Prisons Ladies. The two sides are optimistic of getting something from this game and a win will definitely serve as a morale booster for their campaign.

Ampem Darkoa X Kumasi Sports Academy

Another exciting encounter is brewing as Techiman-based Ampem Darkoa Ladies play host to Kumasi Sports Academy at the Ohene Ameyaw Park on match Day 3. The home-side are fresh from an away victory over Ash-Town Ladies and will be looking forward to maintaining the winning run. The Ohene Ameyaw Park has always been a fortress for Kumasi Sports Academy who have never picked a win in Techiman. That notwithstanding, the Academy Ladies are drawing inspiration from the win against Supreme Ladies on match day two – going into this encounter. A midfield battle is anticipated as the likes of Grace Acheampong and Naomi Anima battle it out for glory.
