WAFA have a date with leaders Karela United on Wednesday on match day 16 of the Ghana Premier League.

The Academy boys recorded their sixth loss of the season on Saturday as they fell 1-0 to Inter Allies following a Nafiu Suleymana strike in the 66th minute of the game. Coach Prosper Narteh’s side head back home to take on Karela United in midweek.

WAFA sit in 10th place with 19 points from 15 matches having churned out an inconsistent campaign thus far. They are one of the few sides who have yet to lose a game at home this season, registering four wins and three draws in their seven home matches. Despite their home invincibility, WAFA have not won a game since their 5-0 thumping of Liberty Professionals on January 31.

They lost 3-0 to Dreams FC, fell 1-0 to Aduana Stars, drew goalless with AshantiGold before losing by a lone goal to Inter Allies Saturday.

Karela United have displayed a very consistent performance this term losing three games from 15 matches. The Ayinase lads have won 8 and drawn 4 with 7 of their wins coming at the Crosby Awuah Memorial park.

They will step out on Wednesday seeking for their first back-to-back wins on the road after picking all the spoils against Ebusua Dwarfs on match day 14.

Diawusie Taylor leads the top scorers chat in the League with 10 goals. The 21-year-old did not score on match day 15 but his quality and strength both home and away cannot be overemphasized.

Taylor alone has scored half (10) of the goals scored by Karela United (22) in the season as the other goals are shared between Kwame Boateng, Umar Bashiru and Franklin Osei. With WAFA seeking to protect their unbeaten home run and Karela also hoping to keep hold of their lead at the top of the table, an explosive game awaits us on Wednesday.

The game is scheduled for 3pm kick off at the Red Bull arena at Sogakope.
