Striker Alidu Issah has been named Player of the Match following his outstanding performance in the Black Starlets’ 3-1 victory over Benin at the WAFU Zone B U17 Championship.

The striker played a pivotal role in Ghana’s impressive win, scoring twice in the opening eight minutes to put the Black Starlets firmly in control of the encounter.

Issah opened the scoring just four minutes into the game before doubling Ghana’s advantage four minutes later, rewarding his side’s bright start and giving them a commanding position early in the contest.

His clinical finishing and attacking threat proved crucial as Ghana secured all three points against their Beninese counterparts, further boosting their campaign in the regional competition.

The Player of the Match award recognises Issah’s decisive contribution to the victory, with his brace underlining his importance to Coach Kassim Ocansey’s side.

The Black Starlets will now look to build on the impressive result as they continue their quest for qualification for the 2027 U17 Africa Cup of Nations through the WAFU Zone B U17 Championship.
