The services of two premiership referees have been withdrawn by the Ghana Football Association for the remainder of the 2008/2009 Glo Premier League.

Referees N.A.T. Plange of Accra and Yakubu Nuhu Liman of Wa are the affected match officials after review of their performances by the Referees Committee of the FA.

A statement by the FA explained that Plange, the centre official during the match-day-8 premiership match between Eleven Wise and Chelsea at the Sekondi Sports Stadium on January 25 performed poorly in the match.

Liman failed to apply his knowledge on player management and psychology of refereeing during the Hearts and Hasaacas match-day-12 fixture at the Ohene Djan stadium in Accra on March 15.

A five-match suspension has been handed Ho-based referee Solomon Morday for performing below average during the match-day-11 game involving Tema Youth and Hearts of Oak at the Tema Sports stadium on March 11.

Three other match officials Kofi Antwi of Tema, Kennedy Bentsil of Cape Coast and Sunyani-based Yaw Ametepe have been cautioned by the FA.

The trio are to improve on their work-rate to avoid facing the necessary sanctions.

Antwi who handled the Sporting Mirren versus Eleven Wise match-day-7 game at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium in Accra on January 19 has been advised to improve on his knowledge of psychology of refereeing, as well as Ametepe and Bentsil.

Ametepe was in charge of the Hearts-Ashantigold round 10 match in Accra whilst Bentsil handled the Hasaacas-Ashantigold match-day-11 fixture at Sekondi Sports Stadium.
