Benjamin Asare has been given the nod to start in goal in this afternoon's 2027 Africa Cup of Nations Group C Qualifier against The Gambia in Accra.

The Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeeper is one of three changes named in the starting line-up by Head Coach Carlos Queiroz.

Jonas Adjetey comes in for Alexander Djiku, while Felix Afena-Gyan takes the place of Christopher Bonsu Baah.

Asare starts in goal behind a backline of Kojo Oppong Peprah, Gideon Mensah, Jonas Adjetey and Jerome Opoku.

Kwasi Sibo and Caleb Yirenkyi keep their places in the heart of midfield, with Abdul Fatawu Issahaku and Felix Afena-Gyan operating on the wings and Ernest Nuamah playing behind striker Brandon Thomas-Asante.

The match will kick off at 4pm at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday, September 29, 2026.
