Tamale City FC were held to a goalless draw by rivals Real Tamale United at the Aliu Mahama Stadium on Saturday. The draw denied league leaders Tamale City FC the chance to extend their lead at the top of the Zone One A table. Despite the dropped points, Tamale City FC have amassed 36 points and extended their unbeaten run to 16 matches this season following an unbeaten record in the first round of the League.
Zone One B leaders Debibi United stretched their lead at the top of Zone with a hard-fought 1-0 win over mid-table Victory Club Warriors at the Debibi Presby Park. Kwadwo Antwi scored the decisive goal in the 24th minute, securing Debibi United’s 12th victory of the season. The win opens up a nine-point gap at the top, with Debibi United sitting on 38 points from 16 matches.
K.A.C Soccer Academy endured their first back-to-back losses this season after a narrow 1-0 home defeat to Dormaa Unity SC at the Sunyani Coronation Park. Stephen Oppong struck the match-winning goal for the visitors on the hour mark. Despite the setback, K.A.C Soccer Academy remain second in the Zone One B league table with 29 points.
