Ghana’s match winner on Sunday, Sulley Muntari wants to keep on playing every game at the 2008 African Cup of Nations for the Black Stars.

The Portsmouth player, making a his debut at the competition, scored his first goal when he struck the ball from 30-yards in the 89th minute to help Ghana to a 2-1 win over Guinea in the opening game of the competition at the Ohene Djan Stadium on Sunday.

And he remains happy with his maiden game at the tournament.

“I am very happy with my first game at the African Cup. I was supposed to play last two years but I couldn’t, due to injury. Yeah, very, very happy that we’ve got the three points.”

Muntari, before delivering victory for Ghana, picked up a yellow card in the second half after he was adjudged to have committed a foul on an opponent.

Sulley Muntari is now a card away from being suspended for a game in the campaign. But the player says he will not be deterred by the first yellow card handed him.

“I don’t think it’s going to affect me. I’ am not going to change how I play. But maybe, I would be a little bit careful. Yesterday, as you saw the game, the guy hit my leg and fell down, so it wasn’t my fault,” the attacking midfielder told the media at a press conference at the team’s hotel a day after the game.

The CAN debutant says he’s in love with the competition and wants to help Ghana win it for a record fifth time.

“I would take my time and play. I don’t want to miss any game because it’s a tournament that I want to continue playing and help my team to win it,” he says.

And ahead of the second group match against the less fancied Namibia side on Thursday at the Ohene Djan Stadium, Muntari says they would approach the game with all seriousness.

“With Namibia, it’s going to be a difficult game, we know. They are very good side. If they are not good, they wouldn’t have qualified for this competition. We trained this morning and tomorrow too, so that we would be able to win the game. That’s what we want.”
