Ghana could qualify for the quarter-finals of the African Cup of Nations if they beat Namibia in Group A on Thursday at Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra.

A win for the Black Stars against Namibia, who are bottom of the table in the four-team group will hand them six points and qualify them to the next stage of the competition if Guinea fail to win the other Group A game against Morocco.

But Ghana are not taking their opponents for tomorrow’s match lightly after watching them go down 5-1 to Morocco on Monday.

Despite Namibia holding onto the record defeat at the African Cup of Nations at least for now, Ghana’s midfield duo, Michael Essien and Sulley Muntari are not getting complacent as they foresee a difficult game for the Black Stars.

After a late stunner by Muntari secured Ghana a win on the opening day, Michael Essien expects another tough battle.

“I think we had a very difficult game yesterday (Sunday) but the most important thing is at the end we managed to get the three points, so that’s the main thing.

“But I think the next game is going to be difficult as well. We just have to work hard and play our game the way we are used to and hopefully we can win that one too,” Essien said at a press conference on Monday.

And the match winner for the Black Stars, Muntari just like his colleague is not underrating the strength on the less fancied CAN finalist.

“With Namibia, it’s going to be a difficult game, we know. They are very good side. If they are not good, they wouldn’t have qualified for this competition. We trained this morning (Monday) and will train tomorrow (Tuesday) too, so that we would be able to win the game. That’s what we want,” Muntari told the media.
