Sea Lions suffer home defeat to Ladystrikers

Sea Lions on Saturday, suffered yet another home defeat to Ladystrikers at the Nduom stadium in Elmina to extend their winless run to four games on the spin.

Ladystrikers took the lead in the 10th minute of the first half through Gladys Amfobea. Sea Lions goalkeeper Martha Annan miscalculated the flight of the ball as it slipped through her fingers at the left corner of the goal post.

Sea lions improved their performance after the goal and were rewarded in the rewarded inside 27 minutes with an equalizer from Elizabeth Owusu who connected from when Cecilia Hagan cross.

Both teams had some goal scoring chances but couldn't burry them as the first half ended 1-1.

Ladystrikers made three substitutions within ten minutes as they kept pressing for the second goal. Faustina Acquah, Abigail Sarkodie and Sarah Inkoom were replaced by Deborah Amponsah, Hannah Miah and Akua Osei.

The substitutes made an immediate impact on the game in the 69th minute when Gladys Amfobea added the second goal for the visitors.

Suzy Dede Teye got the match winner for her side in the 74th minute to take the game beyond the reach of Sea Lions.

The defeat leaves Sea Lions rooted at the bottom of the Southern zone table with zero point from four games after an embarrassing fourth defeat on the spin.

Cecila Hagan from Sea Lions won the Nasco player of the match award.
