Satellites reach semi-finals

Ghana would play the Burkina Faso in the semi-finals of the Wafu Cup tournament on Monday after winning their quarter-final clash against Benin today.

The Black Satellites extended their winning run at the tournament to four games with the 1-0 win over the Beninions thus remaining unbeaten so far.

Dominic Adiyah, scored his third goal today which happened to be his second successive goal of the tournament when he gave Ghana the winner in the 62nd minute of the game.

Ghana qualified from Group B as the top side having beaten all sides – Senegal, Guinea and the Gambia.

Four sides have reached the last four and the winners in the semi-finals would qualify for the finals of the tournament.

The Wafu competition started with 16 teams, out of which twelve have fallen out along the way.

Nigeria is hosting the Wafu Cup tournament.
