Ghana have secured a place in the quarter-finals of the Wafu Cup after beating Guinea today in the second group game of the sub-regional tournament.

The Black Satellites who won 2-1, scored a goal apiece in each half through Latif Salifu and Isaac Donkor before the Guineans struck a consolation late in the game.

Ghana thus maintain their unbeaten run in the competition after starting off with a 2-0 win over Senegal in the opening group game last Friday.

Ghana, who sit at the summit of Group B would play Gambia next in the final group game on Thursday, with the outcome of the game not counting much though the result would affect the pairing for next round.

The first two clubs from each group after the round-robin will progress to the quarterfinals, with the winners advancing to the semi final stage.

The Wafu competition comprises 16 teams, out of which eight will advance to the quarter-finals.
