Rajevac thrilled and expecting more

A historic quarter-final berth at the World Cup has given Milovan Rajevac a renewed hope about Ghana’s chances of achieving something greater.

Ghana on Saturday beat the United States 2-1 at the Royal Bakokeng Stadium in Rustenburg to reach the last eight.

Asamoah Gyan scored the winning goal after three minutes of extra time as he increased is goal tally at the competition to three after Kevin-Prince Boateng had put Ghana ahead only to see Landon Donovan draw the US level from a spot kick.

Now, a game against Uruguay on Friday stands between Ghana and a place in the semi-finals.

Ghana, on their debut four years reached the round of 16 but making it into the final eight this time round has left Rajevac thrilled as he now prepares his Black Stars for an exciting campaign.

"Ghana are now among the eight best teams in the world. This is fantastic. When we reached the final of the African Cup the boys learned how to compete. That is the most important thing and I now hope Ghana will go further,” the record breaking Ghana coach said.

“The whole world is watching these games. Everybody loves good football. Ghana has the support of the whole world because it is the only African country still playing at the World Cup."
