Competition: International friendly
Teams: Ghana v Zambia
Match Venue: Matchroom Stadium, Leyton, London
Date: 12 August 2009
Despite missing some of his called up players, Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac enjoyed a full training session yesterday ahead of Wednesday’s international friendly with Zambia in London.
The Ghana squad has suffered from injuries and visa acquisition problems leading to pull outs but Rajevac was able to train with 17 players at the Chigwell training grounds of Tottenham Hotspur.
But Rajevac is not getting too worried about the situation as he seeks to make the most of those available for the game, he told KickOffGhana.com.
“I am disappointed in a way but there is no point in moaning about it.”
“Many of the players are not here because of injury and visa issues but it is my job to make the most of those available.”
And he goes on to say that the Black Stars needs to play well.
“It is important that we play well and win ahead of the Sudan game,” he said.
Rajevac’s charges face a Zambia side on Wednesday at the grounds of English League One side, Leyton Orient in preparatory game ahead of the 2010 World Cup qualifying next month.
The Black Stars’ next World Cup Qualifier is against Sudan at home. This friendly against Zambia, however, will provide Rajevac a good opportunity to see how his squad performs for the upcoming qualifier.
