Aduana FC beat Nations FC 1-0 to leapfrog them into second position, Accra Lions demolished Bechem United to move back into the top four while Karela United are now three points away from safety after a vital win at home to Nsoatreman FC.

Aduana FC midfielder Yussif Chibsah scored in the second half to secure a 1-0 win over Nations FC on Saturday as they climbed above their opponents into second spot in the Ghana Premier League.

The enforcer tapped in from close range in the 55th minute to help the side bag maximum point and move a point above Nations into second place on the league table.

The Fire Club have now amassed 49 points while Nations have dropped to third on 48 points with three matches to end the season.

Karela United enhanced their survival prospects with a 2-1 win at home to Nsoatreman FC.

Takyi Welbeck opened the scoring for the home side as early as the 16 minutes with a sleek finish at the Naa Sheriga Sports Complex.

Winger Collins Kofi Kudjoe levelled the scores with a superb finish before Fataw Mohammed restored the lead with the second goal for the Pride and Passion.

Karela have now jumped to 12th on the table with 40 points and need just a win from their remaining three matches to secure another top-flight status.

Nsoatreman FC have now dropped to 6th on the table with 45 points.

Accra Lions demolished Bechem United 3-0 to move back into the top four in the capital on Saturday.

Dominic Amponsah opened the scoring for the home side in the 13th minute before further goals from Yahaya Mohammed (71) and Daniel Kwame Awuni (77) condemned the visitors to the heavy defeat at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Lions are now fourth on the table with 47 points while United have dropped to 7th on the table with 44 points.

There are six matches to be played on Sunday May 26, 2024 including the country's epic clash between giants Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
