League leaders Medeama SC will look to extend their impressive at home run when they host Bechem United at the Tarkwa and Aboso Stadium on Saturday, November 22, 2025.
The Mauve and Yellow continued their strong start to the season with a 2-1 away win over Eleven Wonders last weekend, a result that lifted them back to the top of the table with 21 points. Medeama are unbeaten in their last seven league matches, recording four wins and three draws. They have scored a league-high 15 goals in ten games and boast one of the strongest defence, conceding just six goals.
Coach Ibrahim Tanko will be eager for another dominant display as his side, currently the third-best home team, aim to remain atop the standings. Medeama have won four and drawn one of their home matches so far, scoring 10 goals and conceding only three. Their record against Bechem United also provides confidence, having beaten the Hunters in all five of their home league meetings since the 2020/21 season, keeping three clean sheets in the process.
Bechem United climbed out of the relegation zone after a morale-boosting 2-0 win over FC Samartex 1996 last weekend. They sit 15th with nine points from ten matches (W2, D3, L5), scoring eight goals and conceding ten. Their biggest challenge remains their away form. Bechem are one of only two teams yet to register an away point this season, losing all five matches on the road while having the joint-worst away defensive record with ten goals conceded.
The Hunters will hope to build on last weekend’s win and break their long-standing winless run in Tarkwa, where they have not claimed a Premier League victory since 2012.
Head-to-Head
Medeama SC have hosted Bechem United five times since the 2020/21 season and have won all five encounters.
Karela United vs Basake Holy Stars
Karela United will aim to snap a three-match winless streak when they welcome relegation-threatened Basake Holy Stars to the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium on Saturday.
Karela fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat to champions Bibiani Gold Stars last weekend, leaving them with just one win in their last five matches (D2, L2). Despite this dip, they remain 10th on the table with 13 points. Coach Nurudeen Amadu’s side boast a strong home record, ranked seventh in home performance with three wins and two draws in five matches. They have conceded only two goals at home while scoring six, and will be eager to extend their unbeaten home run to six matches.
Basake Holy Stars, currently 17th with six points, head into the fixture on the back of a two-game unbeaten run (W1, D1) following a spirited 2-2 draw with Vision FC. However, their season has been blighted by struggles in attack and defence. They have scored a league-low five goals and conceded 13, while also having a postponed match against Asante Kotoko to honour.
Their away form remains a major concern—they are winless on the road (D1, L4), have yet to score an away goal, and have conceded nine. The Aiyinase side will be desperate to end their five-match away drought when they face a Karela United side they previously held to a 1-1 draw in Tamale.
Head-to-Head
Karela United and Basake Holy Stars have met once at Karela’s home ground since Holy Stars’ promotion in 2024, a match that ended in a 1–1 draw.
