Heart of Lions, Young Apostles FC Samartex 1996 and Basake Holy Stars all recorded crucial victories on Matchday 9 of the Premier League.
Paul Atta Agyei came off the bench to score a dramatic late winner as Heart of Lions edged Berekum Chelsea 1-0 to return to winning ways at the Kpando Sports Stadium.

Substitute Atta Agyei, introduced in the 65th minute by coach Bashiru Hayford, made the difference in stoppage time, finishing clinically to secure all three points for the Kpando side.
At the Wenchi Sports Stadium, newly promoted Young Apostles produced a stunning comeback to beat Bechem United 3-2 in a pulsating five-goal thriller.

After the break, Issah Nyaabila put the hosts ahead in the 57th minute before Bechem United’s Darlvin equalized in the 79th. Substitute Vincent Mobilla then netted an 85th-minute winner to seal a memorable victory for Abu Abdul Hanan’s side, who move up to 8th on the table with 14 points.
Bechem United’s struggles, meanwhile, continue as they remain in the relegation zone with only one win so far this season.
Elsewhere, Basake Holy Stars finally ended their winless run with a morale-boosting 2-0 victory over defending champions Bibiani Gold Stars at the AAK Sports Arena in Ampain.

Gold Stars, unbeaten in their previous four matches, failed to recover as the hosts defended resolutely to claim their first clean sheet and first victory of the season.
The result lifts spirits in Ampain and provides a timely boost for Basake Holy Stars, while Bibiani Gold Stars’ away form remains a concern as their title defense falters.
