Ghana international, John Paintsil has completed his move to Fulham from West Ham after.

The Cottagers will pay their capital rivals £6.3 million for the Black Stars defender and colleague Bobby Zamora, although the fee could rise by a further £1million.

Paintsil has signed a three-year contract with his new club and leaves the Hammers after joining in 2006.

Fulham boss Roy Hodgson was delighted to secure the double deal as he counts on Paintsil's versatility to provide them with more options.

"I am very pleased that we have been able to add both Bobby Zamora and John Paintsil to our squad," he told the club's official website.

"John has a versatility that will provide us with more defensive options, which is extremely important to the strength and depth we have in the squad.

"Completing both signings has been a protracted process which has been much speculated about in the media, I am delighted that we can now officially welcome the players to the club, following the completion of all of the necessary paperwork."

Paintsil has struggled to establish himself at Upton Park since joining in 2006, with the majority of his 24 games coming off the bench and made just seven starts in Premier League games since joining the club.
