Okwahu United charged on three counts of misconduct

Okwahu United have been charged on three months of misconduct in respect of their GN Bank Division One League match against Istanbul FC at Nkawkaw.

After the Pre-Match Technical meeting, Okwawu United FC failed to control their supporters when they physically attacked and punched the Operations Manager of Istanbul FC, Abeiku Thompson contrary to the GFA Regulations.

They have therefore been charged for a breach of Articles 56, 58 and 59 of the Disciplinary Code and Articles 35(3)(b), 35(7)(d) and 35(4) of the GFA General Regulations in respect of this match.

Also,around the 83rd minute of the match, Okwawu United FC failed to control their supporters, when they threw objects at the bench of Istanbul FC and the Assistant Referee hurting him which caused a hold up of play for about four (4) minutes contrary to the GFA Regulations.

They have therefore been charged for a breach of Articles 56, 58 and 59 of the Disciplinary Code and Articles 35(1)(a), 35(2), 35(3)(b), 35(7)(d) and 35(4) of the GFA General Regulations in respect of this match.

After the match, Okwawu United FC failed to control their supporters, when they rushed on Istanbul FC players and officials and match officials and also deflated the 4 tires of the referee’s car and held the referees hostage for 30 minutes contrary to the GFA Regulations.

Okwahu United have been charged for a breach of Articles 56, 58 and 59 of the Disciplinary Code and Articles 35(2), 35(3)(c), 35(7)(d) and 35(4) of the GFA General Regulations in respect of this match.

They are required to submit their written Statement of Defence to the charge(s) on or before Thursday, August 27, 2015 on or before 5pm at the GFA Secretariat or through email address to the Disciplinary Committee [email protected], failing which the Disciplinary Committee shall proceed to adjudicate the case without a Statement of Defence.

Should they choose Defence Options 3 (Personal Hearing) in the Statement of Defence, kindly attend the Disciplinary Committee on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at 4pm at the GFA Secretariat to answer to the charge(s), failure which the Disciplinary Committee shall proceed to adjudicate the case in their absence.
