Assistant Referee Richard Nartey has arrived in Cairo, Egypt, ahead of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) New FIFA Referees Course, scheduled for September 25–30, 2026.

Instituted by CAF in 2014, the New FIFA Referees Course provides a structured assessment platform for newly promoted referees from across the continent as they take the next step towards international officiating.

The six-day programme is designed to assess the technical, physical and professional readiness of participating officials as they transition onto the international stage and prepare for FIFA-level appointments.

Nartey will join other newly promoted referees from across the CAF regions for a series of assessments and technical sessions aimed at evaluating their preparedness for international assignments.

He becomes the first FIFA referee from Somanya in the Eastern Region.
