Nyantakyi interacts with key football stakeholders in Volta Region

GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi paid a working visit to the Volta regional capital Ho on Wednesday.

In a meeting with key stakeholders in football in the region, Mr Nyantakyi expressed gratitude to the people of the region for their role in his re-election.

He also took the opportunity to address various issues relating to football development in the region.

“I am here for two reasons. Firstly, I will like to express gratitude to all for the support you gave me which led to my re-election and to familiarize myself with issues relating to football in the region and also to share with you issues that will confront the football association as we enter the next tenure ”.

Speaking on the Premier League, Mr. Nyantakyi said the Association is doing its best to strengthen the League and that the GFA sees it as its responsibility to promote.

He however called on the Premier League clubs to place themselves strategically to attract sponsors which will also go a long way to help strengthen the League.

Mr. Nyantakyi then reiterated the need to promote the Women's League by generating interest and participation in women football as well as developing the footballing skills of girls from a young age.

Mr. Nyantakyi who was accompanied by GFA Deputy General Secretary Mr. Isaac Addo, added that the Association is keen on developing football from the grassroot and the country as a whole.

He however lamented on how clubs in the division one are financially constrained and welcomed suggestions from the public on how to rezone and lessen the burdens on clubs in the Division one league.

The Fly High Supporters Union also took advantage of the occassion to present a citation to the GFA President for his achievements in Ghana Football so far.
