Matchday five of the MTN Elite U19 Championship promises fireworks on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, as Greater Accra Region and Ashanti Region lock horns in a highly anticipated Group B encounter at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.

The clash, scheduled for 4pm local time, pits two of the tournament’s most impressive sides against each other in what could prove decisive in the race for group supremacy. Greater Accra, brimming with confidence after their emphatic 4–0 win over Volta Region, currently top the table with nine points, holding a two-point lead over second-placed Ashanti Region.

With both teams boasting attacking flair and defensive solidity, fans can expect an intense and tactical battle as the pair fight for bragging rights and a potential semi-final berth.

Earlier in the day, Brong Ahafo Region will face Western Region in Wednesday’s opening fixture at 8am followed by Central Region’s clash with Upper East. Central, who earned their first win via a penalty shootout against Ashanti, will look to build on that momentum in their quest for qualification.

In the Northern Zone, Northern Region, fresh off a morale-boosting 1–0 victory over previously unbeaten Eastern Region, will take on Upper West in another intriguing matchup as the group stage nears its conclusion.

Running from October 23 to November 2, 2025, the MTN Elite U19 Championship features ten regional teams drawn from across Ghana, offering a vital platform for the nation’s most promising young footballers to display their skills, gain competitive experience, and attract the attention of national youth team selectors and professional scouts.

Proudly powered by MTN Ghana, the tournament highlights the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) unwavering commitment to youth football development. By providing a structured and sustainable pathway from grassroots football to the professional stage, the championship continues to play a central role in nurturing the next generation of Ghanaian football stars.
