AshantiGold lost their first game in 11 matches after going down 3-1 to Liberty Professionals at the Carl Reindorf Park on Sunday.

Prior to kick off, AshantiGold had seen a run of seven consecutive wins give way to three draws on the trot.

Despite the loss, the Miners still stay second in the Glo Premier League with four games remaining.

Francis Morton opened the scoring against the Miners in the 13th minute before goalkeeper Daniel Agyei picked his spot right from a penalty kick in the 44th minute.

AshantiGold pulled a goal back when Didier Kore scored just after the interval.

Liberty put the game beyond the Miners with eight minutes remaining when Latif Salifu scored the third goal.
