Meteors, Kotoko play in honour of Bimbo

The national Under-23 team would get their preparations going this weekend with a memorial game against Asante Kotoko in honour of the late Alhaji Bimbo, a former management member of the national side.

The game to be played at the El-Wak stadium on Sunday has been sanctioned by the Ghana Football Association after the family of the departed former football administrator consented to a request to have a game played in honour of him.

Though a test game, the Black Meteors, who are preparing for their Olympic qualifier with a game against South Africa coming up would also play in honour of the former football administrator who passed away last Thursday, August 23, in Germany after a short illness.

Alhaji Bimbo, founder and bankroller of Division One Club side, FC Midtjylland – Maamobi was also a management member of the Black Meteors team.

He was laid to rest in Accra on Monday.
