Lyon coach Claude Puel is expecting Ghana international, John Mensah to return to match action soon following the defender's recovery from injury.

Mensah has made good progress from injury after sitting out for month because of a groin injury but his return to training this earlier week has got Puel excited.

"John is back in training a little earlier which is great news," Puel said.

"We are happy with his progress and that owes a lot to his professionalism and hard work."

Lyon signed the highly rated Ghanaian in the summer from Rennes but he has made just four appearances in the French league as a result of the recurring injury.
