John Mensah is the subject on the negotiating table as Olympique Lyon hold talks with Rennes over the transfer of the Ghanaian defender.

Lyon are still hoping to sign the Ghana international following the departure of defender, Sebastien Squillaci’s to Sevilla in Spain.

The French champions have been holding talks with officials of Rennes and are ready to complete the signing of Mensah for a reported €8 million.

Rennes initially dismissed Lyon’s interest after the proposed sum fell short of their estimation of the Ghana defender.

John Mensah has been linked with a host of clubs with some English sides reported to be interested in his signature.
