Kotoko held by Faisal in Kumasi derby

Champions Asante Kotoko could not preserve a first half lead as King Faisal rallied back to draw the Kumasi derby 1-1 on Sunday.

Despite the draw, Kotoko are fourth on the standings and four points adrift the summit.

Kofi Nti Boakye scored the opener in the 39th minute from a rebound after Seidu Bansi's penalty was spilled by King Faisal goalkeeper Ibrahim Iddrisu.

The Porcupine Warriors held onto their slim lead to end the half at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Sixteen minutes after the break, Faisal were back on level pegging.

Prince Boateng, a graduate from the Faisal academy finished a brilliant move with an overhead kick in the box past Kotoko keeper, Soulama Abdoulaye.
