King Faisal displayed yet another brilliant performance on Match Day 7 of the Ghana Premier League as they beat Elmina Sharks 1-0 to move to the top of the Ghana Premier League table.

The Kumasi based club are the only club in the League who are yet to lose a game in the seven week old competition.

Ibahim Osman scored the only goal of the match in the first half to give his side the lead as he capitalised on a defensive blunder to punish the visitors.

Ibrahim Osman who is on loan from Asante Kotoko missed the game against his club due to a clause in the loan agreement with King Faisal. He scored inside 27 minutes to give the Insha Allah boys a well-deserved lead after dominating play in the opening stages of proceedings.

Back from recess, Mawuli Wayo increased the tally for King Faisal in the 58th minute but his goal was disallowed for offside.

Elmina Sharks took over the game with Michelle Sarpong and Ato Mensah taking charge of the midfield and pressing for the equalizer but failed to make it count as King Faisal held on to win yet another home match at the Baba Yara stadium.

The win takes King Faisal to the top of the table with 16 points – three points ahead of Asante Kotoko who have a game in hand.

In Tamale, Medeama SC picked their first away win of the season after condemning Real Tamale United to a 1-0 home defeat at the Aliu Mahama stadium. Summer recruit Ansu Kofi Patrick scored in the 18th minute to give the Tarkwa lads their second win in three matches.

In Bibiani - Gold Stars recorded a slim win against Bechem United at DUN’s Park. Coach Michael Osei’s men are determined to make their home venue a fortress and made their intentions clear right from the blast of the whistle.

Prince Kwabena Owusu scored from a free kick in the 71st minute to give them a priceless home win to jump to 10 points from 7 matches.

Bechem United played with 10 men after defender Kofi Agbesimeh was shown a red card for a foul on Kamara Gyamfi – an incident that resulted in the free kick that led to the goal.

Seth Osei scored a beautiful goal at Sogakope to give AshantiGold SC a 1-0 win against WAFA – their first away win over the Academy boys in almost 7 years.

At Aiyinase Karela United recorded a resounding victory over Accra Lions at CAM Park. Umar Bashiru scored from the spot in the 31st minute before George Amonoo (44th) and Ebenezer Ocran (56th) added to the scorers’ sheet to complete the rout.

Berekum Chelsea held Legon Cities to a goalless draw in their Match Day encounter at the El Wak stadium. This was Legon Cities’ first game away from the Accra Sports stadium after getting the venue approved by the Club Licensing Board. The draw leaves Legon Cities in 12th in the League table with 7 points after 7 matches while Berekum Chelsea sit third from bottom with a game in hand against Hearts of Oak.

Earlier on Friday – Eleven Wonders and Dreams FC shared the spoils in a 1-1 stalemate at the Ohene Ameyaw Park.

Two time champions Aduana FC also continued their winning run as they beat Great Olympics 1-0 at the Agyemang Badu I Pak to extend their unbeaten run to four matches on the spin. The Dormaa lads have not lost or drawn since the 1-1 draw against Hearts of Oak in Accra after recording victories against Real Tamale United (5-1), Legon Cities (1-0), WAFA (2-0) and Great Olympics (1-0). They now sit in second place with 14 points from 7 matches.
