Accra Hearts of Oak continued with their fine run in the Glo Premier League as the Phobians now go four points clear at the top of the standings.

The Phobians managed to put away difficult opponents, King Faisal at the Ohene Djan Stadium as goals from Obed Ansah and Francis Bossman were enough to cover up any cracks in their set-up as Faisal pulled one back through Samad Oppong.

Obed Ansah’s goal now put level on the top scorers chat with Tema Youth attacker, Edward Affum as both player share five goals apiece.

With the Phobians winning, two other title chasers however lost ground as Tema Youth and Heart of Lions both playing at home could only afford to draw with their opponents.

Tema Youth needed a goal by Edward Kpodo to cancel out Francis Mantey's opener for Wa All Stars at the Tema Park as David Duncan assumed the coaching duties of the Tema-side.

And at the Kpando grounds, Heart of Lions could only play out a goalless draw game with Sporting Mirren who are now a place above the bottom side.

Berekum Arsenals’ home invincibility came under threat as Stephen Amankwah ensured that the Gunners claimed a share of the spoils from their game with Liberty Professionals when he equalised from the spot to draw 1-1 after Daniel Bonsu had put the visitors in front at the Golden City Park.

Kessben FC posted a 2-1 win over bottom side, Sekondi Hasaacas at the Anane Boateng Stadium.

Kwesi Biney equalised for Hasaacas after Moro Ibrahim had put the home side in the lead. But Richard Mpong was on hand to score the winner for Kessben.

AshantiGold dropped further down the standings after losing 1-2 to Gamba All Blacks at the Swedru Park. Bismark Idan and Danjuma Gafaru scored for the Black Magicians while Stephen Owusu-Sefa struck from a free-kick for the Miners.

At the Sekondi Sports Stadium, Eleven Wise won the clash between the newly-promoted, beating Berekum Chelsea 1-0 with the match winner coming from Jonathan Ghansah.

The final fixture for match-day-8 comes up at the Baba Yara Stadium on Monday as Champions, Asante Kotoko take on Real Tamale United.

Asante Kotoko will attempt to win before Sunday’s clash with their rivals, Hearts of Oak who occupy the top of the standings.
