The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has organized a three-day Sports Medicine Seminar for West Africa Zone B (WAFU B) members.
This all important Sport Medicine seminar took place in the third quarter of 2023 in Lome.
The seminar was in alignment with the requirements set forth by the International Federations of Football Associations (FIFA) to prepare for upcoming CAF competitions within the Zone.
The primary goal of the seminar was centered on enhancing the knowledge and expertise of medical officers within CAF and selected physicians in Zone B regarding sports medicine.
Dr. Christiana Baah is a highly respected practising physician in Ghana and has worked with CAF and WAFU Zone B on numerous tournaments, including AFCON qualifying matches.
Speaking after the seminar, Dr. Baah, expressed her gratitude towards CAF and WAFU Zone B Executives for the valuable knowledge imparted during the event, emphasizing the significance of panel discussions that showcased international best practices in Sports Medicine.
She also highlighted the practicality of this newfound knowledge in promoting the well-being of all stakeholders in football, preventing injuries, and ultimately saving lives.
The seminar was opened by WAFU B President, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku.
