Ghana's Daniel Amartey joins English side Leiceste

Ghana international Daniel Amartey has completed a move to English Premier League side Leicester City from FC Copenhagen.

Amartey, who can play at central defence, right-back and in midfield has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with the club until 2020.

The 21-year old expressed delight at making the switch to the EPL side especially at a time when Leicester have attracted a lot of attention as a result of their recent impressive performances.

"It is a great pleasure to join Leicester City, I know the club have been interested in signing me for some time and that was a big part of my decision to come here”.

"All over Europe, people are talking about Leicester City and how well the club is doing in the Premier League. The team plays exciting, attacking football and I am looking forward to being part of it", Amartey told the club's official website after he sealed the deal.

The former Inter Allies player joins compatriot Jeffery Schlupp who is also at Leicester City and other teammates Andre Ayew, Jordan Ayew, Christian Atsu, Kwesi Appiah, Baba Rahman, who are all playing in the English topflight.
