The General Secretary of the Football Association, Prosper Harrison Addo, Esq, has extended heartfelt appreciation to the Melcom Group of Companies for their unwavering support and sustained commitment to the growth and promotion of football in Ghana.

Mr. Addo lauded Melcom for its consistent investment in Ghanaian football and its strong corporate social responsibility ethos, which continues to impact the sporting community positively.

He noted that the partnership between the GFA and Melcom, established to promote the development of local football and improve the welfare of participating clubs, has yielded significant benefits over the years.

As part of Melcom’s sponsorship package for the Women’s Premier League, each of the 20 participating clubs has once again received shopping vouchers worth GHS 5,000, reaffirming Melcom’s dedication to supporting women’s football and enhancing club welfare.

“We are extremely grateful to Melcom for standing with the GFA and our women’s clubs,” said Mr. Addo. “Their support continues to make a real difference in the lives of our players and teams, and it demonstrates their belief in the potential and promise of women’s football in Ghana.”

He further emphasised the GFA’s commitment to nurturing long-term partnerships with corporate organisations that share the vision of advancing football at all levels, from grassroots to the elite tier.

Founded in 1989, the Melcom Group is Ghana’s largest retail chain, renowned for providing a wide range of quality products at affordable prices through its nationwide network of stores. Beyond retail, Melcom has become a leading example of corporate citizenship, contributing meaningfully to national development through initiatives in education, health, sports and community empowerment.
