Brong Ahafo maintained their perfect start to the KGL Foundation Inter-Regional U17 Colts Championship after edging Eastern Region 1-0 on Matchday Two at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram on Monday, October 5, 2026.

The victory marked Brong Ahafo’s second successive win, following their 2-0 triumph over Upper West Region on the opening day, and further strengthened their position among the early contenders for the title.

In another early kick-off, Upper East Region secured their first win of the competition with a convincing 2-0 victory over Northern Region.

There was also plenty of drama in the encounter between Upper West Region and Elite Academy BIG Boss, with Upper West prevailing 3-2 on penalties after the two sides played out an entertaining 3-3 draw in regulation time.

Defending champions Ashanti Region also responded positively to their disappointing opening-day defeat, holding high-scoring Western Region to a goalless draw before prevailing 5-3 on penalties.

The result offered the champions a measure of redemption after their heavy 4-1 defeat to BIG Boss in their opening Group B fixture.

Elite Academy Prempeh College continued their impressive campaign with a narrow 1-0 victory over Central Region, while Greater Accra also secured maximum points after defeating Volta Region 1-0 in the final fixture of the day at the GFA Technical Centre.

The results have intensified the competition at the top of both groups, with teams now battling for crucial points as the championship enters its next stage.

Sponsored by the KGL Foundation, the Inter-Regional U17 Colts Championship forms part of the Ghana Football Association’s Talent Development Scheme (TDS), which seeks to identify, develop and nurture emerging football talent across the country.

The competition provides a crucial platform for Ghana’s brightest U17 prospects to showcase their technical quality, tactical awareness and potential while gaining valuable experience against some of the country’s finest young footballers.
