Football family mourn Patricia Ofori

Former Black Queens player Patricia Ofori, 29, was laid to rest today in Accra as teammates and the football family turned out to pay homage to her.

Among those who attended the burial service was Black Stars captain, John Mensah.

As fine as her career as a player was she may be remembered more among the women's national team group from 2003 after having played in two World Cups for Ghana.

Patricia was killed in a car accident in April of this year in Huntsville in the United States after losing control of her vehicle while driving.

She started her career in Ghana with Mawuena Ladies before she was called to the national team in 2003.

Patricia, played for the Bulldogs from 2005-2007 and led the team to the 2007 Southwestern Athletic Conference championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament.

Patricia Ofori was an alumini of Alabama A&M University where she excelled in a football and studies.

She was a second-team All-SWAC selection in 2005.
