Head of FIFA's Medical department Prof Jiri Dvorak has praised Ghana for the progress it has made in the "11 for Health" programme.

The football based health which was introduced after the 2010 World Cup, helps to improve children’s(between 11-13) knowledge, attitudes and behaviour towards vital health issues.

Prof. Dvorak who is was in Ghana on Tuesday with African soccer legend Samuel Eto’o Fils, praised the Country Project coordinator and the GFA for Ghana's success story in the "11 for health " project.

" What has been done in Ghana in the last three years must really be acknowledged. Ghana has proven to be a success story in this programme".

"Our ambition is to get the programme running every school across Ghana in the next two years", Dr. Dvorak said at a press conference on Tuesday.

The FIFA Medical chief stressed the strides the programme has achieved using football icons to send simple health messages to school children across the world.

" We have seen in Sierra Leone how with the help of simple messages such as washing of hands, there was no report of cholera for the whole of last year", he said.

The FIFA Medical team and Samuel Eto’o visited the Kotobabi "3" JHS and the Alajo Cluster of schools on Tuesday where they watched health drills by the school children.
