FIFA Director Member Associations Africa visits Ghana

FIFA Director Member Associations Africa Gelson Fernades will arrive in Accra Wednesday for a two-day working visit to Ghana.

The former Swiss international midfielder who was appointed in April last year, is visiting the country to check on progress made so far since the Normalization era and to have an overview of the football eco-system and plan to grow football in Ghana.

Fernandes who took up the role on August 1, 2022 with responsibility for overseeing services to strengthen the development of the African member associations through the Forward Programme.

He grew up in Switzerland and developed his footballing skills at FC Sion, where he currently holds the position of vice-president.
