GFA SALUTES GHANA’S STARS

The Ghana Football Association hereby presents its compliments to all players plying their trade in Ghana and other parts of the globe and wishes to use this opportunity to congratulate each and every single player for the good works being done not only to uplift their professional careers but also in so doing lifting high the flag of Ghana.

On the local scene, we wish to commend all players for the wonderful displays put up so far and encourage all to uphold the norms of discipline, hard work, and dedication.

The contingent of the local component of the Black Stars deserve special commendation for the good work done so far and wish them the best of luck in their upcoming match with Togo and subsequent ones as they aspire to qualify for the maiden edition of the CHAN tournament in Cote D’Ivoire early next year.

At this stage where most of the foreign football seasons are coming to an end, we wish to assure our gallant players that the FA has been closely following their exploits and will wish to commend them for their exemplary show of commitment, dedication, enthusiasm laced with an admirable portion of amazing skills on the field and discipline both on and off the field.

We wish to use this opportunity once again to wish our Captain Stephen Appiah a speedy recovery and a successful recuperation from his unfortunate condition and wish to assure him that the nation anxiously awaits his return to the fold to play his rightful role.

The FA will like to congratulate deputy Captain John Mensah for holding the fort all this while. It is by no accident that FC Rennes recognised John’s potential in installing him as the captain of the side after a very inspiring show of leadership in the just ended CAN 2008.

We wish to congratulate Eric Addo for a wonderful season with his Club which contributed in no small way to the record achievement of a seventh league title in his distinguished and illustrious career.

Junior Agogo’s contribution to Nottingham Forest’s promotion to the Championship cannot go without mention. Whilst congratulating Junior, we also wish to urge him on to greater works and laurels.

As Sulley Muntari and Michael Essien match on to the fields with their colleagues from Portsmouth and Chelsea for the FA Cup and Champions League finals respectively, we wish to extend the best wishes of the FA and Ghanaians to these gallant sons of the land and will want to assure them of our prayers as they proceed on this record breaking feats.

We have no doubts at all that success will crown their individual and collective team efforts.

To those whose clubs did not have an exceptionally successful season, we urge them to remain strong and focused as they tackle their assignments in the coming season.

To all the rest, we once again commend them for a good work done and urge them on to keep showing the same level of zeal and commitment to both club and country in this noble professional path that they have chosen.

The FA also wishes to use this opportunity to once again remind ourselves of the upcoming qualifiers for Angola and South Africa 2010 and also reiterate our collective commitment towards achieving the objective of AGENDA 2010 and trust we can count on the unalloyed contribution of our gallant players both at home and abroad.
