The Ethics Committee, chaired by Nana Adjei Ampofo (Chairman), has ended proceedings in the matter involving Ashanti Regional Football Association Chairman, Osei Tutu Agyemang for making unethical comments in the media.

Osei Tutu Agyemang, who is also an Executive Committee member of the Ghana Football Association was found liable for bringing the game into disrepute.

Ethics proceedings against Osei Tutu Agyemang was opened on 20th March, 2012 to ascertain the truthfulness or otherwise of the alleged comments made by him.

The decisions, which were taken after a hearing by the Ethics Committee into the matter, are the following:

- Having listened to the extracts of the interviews the Chairman of the Referees Committee had on Angel FM in Kumasi and Asempa FM in Accra and the petitioners (National Chapter Committee of Accra Hearts of Oak) the Ethics Committee is of the view that, Mr Osei Tutu Agyemang cannot be reasonably expected to be balanced in his determination of matters between Asante Kotoko S.C and others and therefore he must not continue serving as the Chairman of the Referees Committee.

- In view of Mr Agyemang’s special relationship with Asante Kotoko which goes beyond ordinary as expressed in the interview he granted to Angel FM in Kumasi, we accordingly direct that the GFA immediately remove Mr. Osei Tutu Agyemang from the Referees Committee.

- With regards to the National Chapter Committee of Accra Hearts of Oak S.C, supporters cannot take the law into their own hands as some have threatened to deal with Mr. Agyemang. Any form of assault on Mr. Osei Tutu Agyemang should be treated as criminal case.
