Eleven Wonders stop Hearts of Oak to temporarily move out of danger

Accra Hearts of Oak lost yet another match on the road in the Ghana Premier League as they threw away an early lead to lose 2-1 to Eleven Wonders at the Ohene Ameyaw Park in Techiman.

Moro Sumaila scored in the 96th minute to give Wonders three points after conceding in the 12th minute of the game.

The Wednesday fixture was rescheduled from May 25, due to a swine-flu outbreak in the Hearts of Oak camp in the middle of last month.

The dethroned League Champions had a good start to the game after scoring in the 12th minute through Kojo Obeng Junior.

With Hearts of Oak heading into the break with a slender lead - Wonders levelled matters before the halftime whistle as captain Tetteh Nortey converted a spot kick to make it 1-1.

Back from recess, Wonders pushed for the winner and they put more men behind the battle and stopped the midfield of Hearts of Oak from functioning. Their efforts finally yielded dividend in the dine embers of the as they were rewarded in extra time when Sumaila Moro scored to send the fans into a wild jubilation.

The win takes Eleven Wonders to 15th place, two points ahead of Real Tamale United who have dropped to the relegation zone with two games to end the season.

They will travel to Sogakope to face another relation threatened WAFA before hosting two-time champions Aduana FC in the last match of the season at the Ohene Ameyaw Park.
