Competition: International friendly
Teams: Ghana v Zambia
Match Venue: Matchroom Stadium, Leyton, London
Date: 12 August 2009
Kwame Quansah and five other players have joined the male senior national team ahead of Wednesday’s international friendly with Zambia.
Their inclusion follows the inability of some selected players by Milovan Rajevac to arrive for the game.
Also joining the Black Stars squad are goalkeeper William Amamoo, Francis Dickoh and Chris Dickson.
The other members are David Telfer and Gladson Awako, both members of the national under-20 side.
Quansah, a regular for Dutch side, Heracles Almelo would be attempting to impress after his debut for Ghana was short lived due to injury in last October’s friendly against South Africa.
For Dickoh who also plays in the Dutch league, this would be his first call up since failing to make the team for the 2008 African Nations Cup.
Charlton Athletic forward Chris Dickson would be hoping to get a role after playing under Rajevac in a similar exercise against Tanzania in August 2008.
Both Ghana and Zambia will use the game at the home grounds of Leyton Orient to prepare for their World Cup qualifier in September this year.
