Debibi United FC extends lead in Zone One B, Tamale City FC drops points in Zone One A

Debibi United FC opened up an impressive 17-point lead at the top of the Zone One B table after securing a hard-fought 1-0 home victory over second-placed K.A.C Soccer Academy at the Debibi Presby Park on Sunday. Kwadwo Antwi scored the decisive goal in the 36th minute to hand Debibi United all three points. Debibi United have now accumulated 47 points from 19 league matches and sit at the top of the table in Zone One B.

In Tamale, former Premier League side Real Tamale United registered a narrow 1-0 away victory over city rivals Northern City FC at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium to keep the pressure on Zone One A leaders Tamale City FC. Jonas Wisdom Manyina scored the only goal of the game with a fine finish in the 15th minute to seal maximum points for Real Tamale United. Real Tamale United now sit five points behind Tamale City FC at the summit.

Zone One A leaders Tamale City FC dropped points for the third time in their last four league matches (W1, D3) after coming from behind to secure a 1-1 draw against Sankara Nationals at the Yendi Youth Resource Centre. Zack Musah gave Sankara Nationals an early lead from the penalty spot in the ninth minute, but Mohammed Musah Salis leveled matters for Tamale City FC in the 44th minute. Tamale City FC have now amassed 41 points from 19 league matches.
