She arrives in Costa Rica as the youngest player at the competition yet with the confidence of taking her little steps to glory.

Fuseina Mumuni is the player every journalist wants to have a word with when they meet the Ghana team in Liberia.

At 13, Fuseina, has been thrust into an exciting period of her young years and is fulfilling a dream she has long held onto when she was just nine years old.

"When I started playing football, I used to see players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi and [David] Beckham] on TV. I wanted to be like them whenever I played. I was just 9 years old," Fuseina said after a Black Maidens training session ahead of Ghana's group opener against Korea DPR.

"I also look up to Marta [Brazilian soccer star who has won five straight FIFA Player of the Year Awards]. I want to develop and be like them.

"Now, I have the chance to play at the World Cup and I hope it goes well."

Always wearing a smile on a her face, Fuseina accepts that she will have to put in the extra work to make the grade.

"It's tough and I know I am young but I believe if I work hard, I can get there. It was difficult to get here. Getting selected into the national team is not easy. But I want to continue working hard."

Despite her high hopes, the Ghanaian attacker does not lack the confidence in pursuing her cherished dreams.

"I like to dribble if I can and shot. But I play with my colleagues, who help me and I need to help them too.

"We are a team and I know that we can be great if we stick together.

"I am determined to play well to make my coaches, teammates and family very happy.

"I want to be happy too," said the Ghanaian youngster.
