The Referees Committee of the Ghana Football Association is encouraging clubs to take advantage of the more formal channel of giving feedback on officiating standards.

According to the Referees Committee, clubs should channel any feedback to the Committee for the necessary action rather than the public outburst of their concerns over the performance and appointment of match officials.

"The Committee would however be grateful if all such feedback on appointments is channeled to the Committee for consideration," read a statement signed by Osei Tutu Agyemang, Chairman of the Referees Committee.

"The tendency of going public with such feed back may give rise to perceptions of undue influence on the business of the Committee.

"It may also be unethical according to the GFA code. For match officials against whom such public utterances are made, it is our view that they are being denied the right to be heard, which is against the rules of natural justice."

Clubs have also been asked to take responsibility to protect the game and respect due process.

"The establishment of the Review Panel of the GFA and its work so far demonstrates the commitment of the GFA to not only ensure high officiating standards in our leagues but also respect due process with regard to all who seek fair play and the good of the game. We would therefore appeal to all concerned to allow the systems and processes in place to work without undue interference," the statement added.
