Vision FC’s six-game unbeaten streak (W3, D3) had reignited hopes of a top-four push, but those ambitions were abruptly checked by a narrow 1-0 defeat to reigning champions Bibiani Gold Stars over the weekend.
The loss has seen the Tema-based side slip three places into the bottom half of the table, now sitting 11th with 34 points after 26 matches, having scored 28 goals and conceded 27.
Despite the setback, Vision FC will take significant encouragement from their formidable home form as they return to the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex.
Under the guidance of head coach Nana Kweku Agyemang, they have turned their home ground into a stronghold, recording six wins, five draws, and just one defeat in 12 league matches.
With 19 goals scored and only 10 conceded at home, they have also won their last two home fixtures and will be eager to extend that run on Saturday. Adding to their confidence is a perfect record against Basake Holy Stars FC in Tema, having won their only previous league meeting there.
Basake Holy Stars FC have climbed to eighth place with 36 points, thanks to a steady run of results. Their recent 1-0 victory over Young Apostles FC marked their third clean-sheet win in the last five matches, a sequence that also includes one draw and one defeat. Defensive solidity has been the cornerstone of their resurgence, with four clean sheets recorded in that span.
However, their struggles on the road remain a major concern. They are among five teams yet to register an away win this season, managing four draws and nine defeats. Still, there are signs of improvement—most notably their goalless draw against Hearts of Oak in their last away outing, which snapped a four-game losing streak and could provide a timely boost ahead of their trip to Tema.
