The Executives of the Ghana League Clubs Association - GHALCA - and premier league clubs have given the Ghana Football Association a ringing endorsement over its role in the Glo Sponsorship deal secured for the Premier League.

The club’s body after perusing the documents covering the sponsorship deal with Glo Mobile Ghana Ltd have declared that there was no underhand dealings.

A GHALCA communiqué on behalf of the clubs following a meeting between chairmen/representatives of premier league clubs on one hand and the Ghana Football Association said: “Whilst the clubs agreed that based on the information received and discussed, there is no cause to believe that there was any underhand dealing, they admonished the Football Association to ensure that stronger due diligence is carried on any parties, be they core or ancillary (as in agencies) to any such future agreements.”

Representing that Ghana Football Association at the meeting were FA President Kwesi Nyantakyi and Randy Abbey, the sport body’s Spokesperson.

The statement further tasked the Ghana Football Association to ensure that the premier league’s title sponsor satisfies its obligations as per the contract.

“They also charged the President of the FA to work assiduously to ensure that Glo honour their obligation to the clubs.”

With lots of commentary having gone on in the media, GHALCA has charged it membership to be circumspect with their pronouncements.

“We, hereby, urge all persons who speak on behalf of clubs, and indeed, all stakeholders of Ghana football to continue working hard to enhance the image of football at all times.”
