Berekum Chelsea's semi-final hopes in a balance after the Ghanaian side could only draw with Zamalek in the African Champions League.

The penultimate Group B fixture on Saturday at the Military Academy Stadium in Cairo ended 1-1.

Zamalek, who were pointless before kick off opened the scoring after 13 minutes through Mohamed Ibrahim but Chelsea defender Awudu Nafiu drew his side level 11 minutes later.

Chelsea needed a win to enhance their chances of reaching the last-four before the mid-September final group fixture against TP Mazembe, who will be home to group leaders, Al Ahly on Sunday.

But Hans Van der Plyum's side will now hope for an Ahly victory, which keep them in contention for a semi-final place ahead of their final match showdown in the group against Mazembe.
