Nathaniel Asamoah rescued a point for Aduana Stars against Raja Athletic Club in a six-goal thriller at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa-Ahenkro.

The Ghanaian champions appeared to be heading for a second straight defeat in the group stage of the CAF Confederations Cup as et trailed 3:2 deep into injury time, but Asamoah salvaged the situation with an equalizer deep into injury time.

Raja stunned Aduana with an early opener through Mahmoud Benhalib but Oba Ikama gave Aduana hope with the equalizer midway in the first half.

Raja however restored their lead seven minutes to the break through Nabidi Lema. Just after the break, Caleb Amankwa restored parity for Aduana.

But for the third time in the game, Aduana fell behind again when danger man, Mahmoud Benhalib grabbed his brace to give Raja a 3:2 lead with less than a quarter of an hour to play.

With the game deep in injury time, Nathaniel Asamoah calmed nerves when he scored to rescue a point for the home side.

Aduana are now bottom of their group with a point after two games, and they next face AS Vita Club in July.
