Ghana U-20 team coach Orlando Wellington says he was impressed by the response of the Black Satellites as they beat premiership side Hearts of Oak 2-1 in a test game on Sunday in Tema.

Mahatma Otoo scored twice against the Phobians with the premier league side getting a consolation through midfielder Douglas Nkrumah.

"It's was a good test for the team as we head into the final stages of preparations for the U-20 Championship," Wellington said after the game.

"I am not too concerned about the result but I was particularly interested in the way the players applied what we've been working on and their desire.

"We've been training well and I like the spirit and the concentration shown by everyone in the squad."

The game formed part of Ghana's preparations towards the African U-20 Championship next month in Libya.

Ghana will be defending the African won in 2009 when the 2011 Championship begins in Libya in March.

The Black Satellites, also defending World champions will play rivals, Nigeria in the opening group game before taking on Cameroon and Gambia all in Group B following the draw for eight-team Championship.
